Holy Monastery Ikosifinissa

At a distance of only 15 km from Hotel Alexandros is the holy Monastery of Panagia of Eikosifinissa.

The holy Monastery of Panagia tis Ikosifinissa is the second most important monastery in Macedonia, where even today many believers flock to the Monastery to worship the grace of Panagia tis Ikosifinissa and to embrace her handmade icon. The holy Monastery is located on the Kavala-Serron national road (on the border of the two Prefectures), on the northern side of Pangaios, immediately after the settlement of Kormista, in a verdant location, at an altitude of 743 m. Today, 25 nuns live in the Monastery with the abbess Alexia the nun. The monastery is a Stavropigian Monastery, i.e. it belongs to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople (administratively) and the Holy Metropolis of Drama (ecclesiastically).
